Maritime Rules Part 41: Anchors & Chain Cables

Part 41 prescribes the requirements for the testing and certification of anchors and cables manufactured in New Zealand and sets out the certification required for acceptance in New Zealand of imported equipment.

Part 41 of the maritime rules applies to:

  • Anchors of 75 kilograms mass or greater, and chain cables with links greater than 12.5 mm in diameter for use onboard New Zealand commercial ships.

Part 41 came into force on 1st February 2001.

This part was amended by Maritime (Various Amendents) Rules Parts 20-91 in 2008.
