Auckland Regional Council Marine Pollution Response Coordinator Mick Courtnell has been appointed as a National On Scene Commander.
Many of you will know Mick, who has been a Regional On Scene Commander and active member of the National Response Team for a number of years.
Mick joins Nick Rowarth and Rob Service, from MPRS, and Alex van Wijngaarden, from the Marlborough District Council, as one of the four people who could currently be called upon to lead a Tier 3 (national level) oil spill response.
